Office of Correction and Law Enforcement Monitoring (OCLEM)
In 2018, the Board of Supervisors adopted through ordinance OCLEM, an Office designed to provide independent monitoring of the County’s Correction and Law Enforcement functions. In 2019, the Board contracted with OIR Group to begin monitoring services in January 2020. The current COVID-19 crisis and limitations on travel has impacted OCLEM’s work but progress is being made on devising a work plan and other necessary arrangements for an effective and functioning oversight entity once the health crisis has passed.
